University of Dallas

 

So, last Thursday night, I had dinner at Bavarian Grill in Plano with Deutsche Kirche Dallas (German Church Dallas), which is a group of German-speakers who meet regularly, via Zoom mostly, to do church in German. There is a weekly Bible study. I hope we are able to resume at least monthly worship in person soon. Anyway, it was a very pleasant evening with seven of us there for dinner. The food was amazing as always.

Upon arriving home, I received an email

from the University of Dallas notifying me a decision had been made on my application for admission as a transfer undergraduate student for Fall 2021 semester. I immediately clicked the link and signed into my admissions portal to read the notification. And I read:

Dear Benjamin,

After careful review, the Admission Committee has approved your application for admission for

the 2021 Fall Transfer term. Congratulations and welcome to our community of scholars!

I could not have been more ecstatic! The letter further stated:

Benjamin, the Admission Committee was pleased to review your application. We were very

impressed with your desire and drive to complete your education, and we believe that UD will

provide you with the welcoming, intimate learning environment that you crave. Congratulations,

Benjamin!

Also, there was a link to a "merit scholarship award," which I quickly clicked on, only to read:

Congratulations! In recognition of your significant achievements and talents, you have been

selected from among a very competitive class to receive a University of Dallas Transfer

Scholarship. This award is to be applied to your University of Dallas undergraduate tuition

charges at the rate of $16000 per year. This represents the university's ongoing commitment and

confidence that you will make an important contribution to the UD community.

So, I immediately responded to let the University know that I would indeed enroll this fall at UD. I just have to pay the $400.00 deposit by 1st August 2021. I actually plan to pay that tomorrow after my income from Favor is direct-deposited into my account. So, needless to say, I'm going to be a student again this fall.

Orientation and registration are "tentatively" scheduled to begin Friday, 20th August 2021. I can't wait!
